Virginia Tech hosted the U.S. Naval Academy for a special charity in which both the Hokies and the Midshipmen combined their efforts off the ice to raise thousands of dollars for leukemia research. On the ice, the Hokies skated hard coming away with their second league win of the season. Behind the heavy forechecking led at times by freshman C.J. Hathaway, the Hokies produced several turnovers that resulted in timely goals. C.J. is the leading scorer on Virginia Tech team with 20 points (8G, 12 A) through mid-October. He scored twice against Navy, which followed a 5-goal game against division rival James Madison. Congratulations to C.J., the Hokies, and the Midshipmen for a hard fought game on the ice, and the brothers-in-arms cooperation off the ice for a tremendous cause!
