College of Charleston (28 October)

Playing crosstown rival The Citadel for the second time this year, the College of Charleston walked into an arena hosting the Bulldogs homecoming and a crowd of more than 600 students, parents, alumni, and fans.  The stands were full, standing room only, the noise was deafening, and the arena was rocking.

After a close first period, the Cougars opened the floodgates when sophomore Colin Paton scored his first shorthanded goal of the game.  Colin and his teammates followed up with 2 additional goals inside 4 minutes.  The Citadel scored 2 quick to answer and were controlling play, tilting the ice in the second period.  Colin broke the confidence of The Citadel by scoring his second shorthanded goal of the game which was also the game winning goal.  He added an assist as well in the 3rd period, for a four-point night.

Colin hails from Sarasota Springs and is a transfer from SUNY Adirondack, in upstate New York.  Off the ice, he is majoring in accounting.

With the win, the College of Charleston jumps into sole first place of the ACC M3 Carolina Division.  Congratulations to Colin, Head Coach Steve Barton, and the entire Cougar team for a tremendous effort for the first semester of ACC Hockey!
