George Washington University (18 November)

George Washington is having another successful year on the ice in large part due to Senior Captain, Alec Yerkovich.  In a 9-3 win over ACC Division rival St. Joseph's, Alec had 3 goals and 3 assists, including setting up the winning goal, leading the way in the dominant league win.  The win placed the Colonials in first place in the ACC Capitol Division heading into the holiday break.

The Colonials followed up with a second ACC Division win in their rivalry game against Georgetown.  Alec had 2 assists and was again responsible for setting up the winning goal in the 6-2 win. The next night he netted a goal and an assist, earning the game winner himself.  The goal came in the waning minutes of the third period, beating Drexel 3-2 - GW’s first win ever against a MACH team.

In addition to totaling 10 points in 3 games, including points on all the winning goals, Alec should be commended for his leadership throughout the first semester.  He leads by words and deeds, championing the positive attitude and personal responsibility George Washington expects of all its student-athletes.  This has been instrumental in turning what the Colonials expected to be a very challenging semester - given our shortened bench and large number of rookies - into one of the most productive and most enjoyable semesters to date.
