Liberty Moves on After Besting Tennessee

Flames in ACC Finals for First Time in 9 Years

WINSTON-SALEM, NC: In the final game on day two of the ACCHL tournament, it was the Liberty Flames defeating the Tennessee Ice Vols 4-2.  The victory sent the Flames to the finals versus Coastal Carolina, who just hours before defeated East Carolina University.

Liberty would score first and maintain the lead for most of the game. The first goal came with 8:05 remaining in the first. Scott Chisholm would score with assists coming from Kenny Fogarty and Christian Kline.

In the second period, it would be Kenny Fogarty of Liberty, extending the lead. Jordan Chamberlain and T J Moores provided the assists at 16:19 remaining. Tennessee would get back into the game less than three minutes later when Luke Schoenbrunn would tally with help from Nick Carline and Clay Lamb.

The third period would see the Ice Vols John Clarke tie the game with 6:43 remaining. Bobby Stobierski and Nick Carline would get the assists. Kenny Fogart would score what would end up being the game winning goal with just 1:57 remaining with an assist from Chisholm. Jordan Chamberlain would ice the game with an unassisted goal with :29 remaining.

Ben Algatt was in net for Liberty while Baylor Winecoff was in the goal for Tennessee.
