Chanticleers Win ACC M3 Title in OT

Coastal Carolina Earns First ACC Championship

WINSTON-SALEM, NC: In the final game of the ACCHL tournament weekend, which saw champions crowned in the D2 women’s and D2 men’s, it was the D3 men’s game that provided the most drama. It took overtime to crown the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers, over the Liberty University Flames by a score of 3-2.

Liberty would get on the board first in period one with 2:34 remaining. T J Moores would get the goal with the lone assist from Kenny Fogarty. One minute and twenty seconds later it would be Brendan Engtow unassisted for Coastal to tie the game.

The second period would only see one goal scored. With just 2:22 remaining, it would be Fogarty scoring with assists from Adam Partridge and Graham Wood.

Justin Fowlkes of Coastal would score with 6:35 remaining, on the goal that would send the game to overtime. Engtow would get the assist.

In a nail-biting overtime period, it was Kenny Ferrara with just over eight minutes remaining in the period to seal the victory for the Chanticleers. Fowlkes would get his second point of the game on the assist, while Engtow would get his third point on the assist.

Griffin Williams was in goal for Coastal while Kyle Wesbury was in net for Liberty.
