Denison University - ACC Hockey M2 Elite Division Champions

Twenty ACC teams (along with guest teams Maryland and Tampa), arrived in Northern Virginia this past weekend for the 10th Annual ACC Fall Showcase Tournament.  First year ACC League member Denison rolled to two victories on Friday and Saturday before Big Red was challenged to a hard-fought overtime victory on Sunday against East Carolina.  Denison rolled into the arena in northern Virginia Friday night and faced Duke University.  Big Red started slow, presumably from bus legs, but quicky took control of the game, routing the Blue Devils 13-1.  On Saturday, Denison skated to an 8-1 victory against another first year ACC Member, Princeton.  Big Red started the game strong and kept the Tigers pinned in their zone most of the night.  On Sunday, Denison found a formidable opponent in East Carolina, skating to a 3-3 tie in regulation.  Denison quickly scored in overtime to earn a 3-0 record in their first ACC Fall Showcase Tournament!  Denison was the only ACC Team Elite team to go undefeated in the three day weekend tournament, earning 26 Points.  Saint Joseph's finished second with 22 points and Georgetown finished third with 21 points.

Senior Captain Oliver Gignoux was named the ACC Tournament MVP recording 2 goals, 2 assists, and +8 for the weekend.  Oliver is a Dual Major in Global Commerce and Economics with a French Minor, currently carrying a 4.00 GPA.  Oliver originally hails from Rutland, Vermont.

Congratulations to Coach Jeff German and the entire Denison hockey program!
