The 10th Annual ACC Fall Classic Tournament was held in Springfield, Virgnia for the 3rd consecutive year. Twenty-four teams participated (8 Premier, 16 Elite) in three league games throughout the weekend. Only two teams went 3-0, George Washington University, and Denison University. The Revolutionaries won the Elite Tournament Bracket on points, with 28, edging out Denison who tallied 27. Saint Joseph's (2-0-1) earned a third place finish with 23 points.
In the tournament, George Washington beat Richmond 5-2 on Friday, Bryn Athyn 5-1 on Saturday, and James Madison 6-1 on Sunday. The Revs offensive production was led by Clendenin Stewart, Shawn Montgomery and Ethan Redden. The Rev's defensive effort was led by GW's captain, Cade Llewellyn.
George Washington is currently in second place in the Capital Division with 12 points and is ranked #28 in the ACHA Southeast.
The Elite Tournament MVP for the weekend was Sophomore goalie Sage Yoke. Sage won all 3 games for us over the weekend allowing 4 goals on 116 shots for a 96.5% save percentage. Sage is from Brookline, MA and this is his first year with the GWU program.
Congratulations to Cade, his teammates, Coaches Jon Moynihan, Dave Baratta, Brendan Horgas, and the entire GW hockey family for a phenomenal fall semester of hockey.
