East Carolina traveled a few hours east this past weekend to start the '24-'25 ACC Hockey season with a double header with ACC Premier team UNC-Wilmington. East Carolina split the weekend with the Seahawks dropping the first game 4-3 on Friday night, but rebounding to a 4-2 win on Saturday. Key in both games was the tremendous effort between the pipes of veteran net minder Jackson Shulmistra.
Jackson finished the first game with 56 shots on goal, saving 52. Then on Saturday night, less than 24 hours later, saved 68 on 70 shots, giving the Pirates their first win of the new season.
Congratulations to Jackson, the entire East Carolina Hockey Team, the Pirate coaching staff, and the entire East Carolina hockey organization for an exceptional start to the season.
