The William & Mary Hockey Program has been building at a meteoric rate since the pandemic. After finishing in last place in the 2019-2020 season, the Tribe has matured into the flagship ACC M3 program. The team has made the finals for the past four (4) years, winning three (3) league championships. In all four (4) years, the Tribe earned the #1 Tournament Seed by winning the season.
This year's team showed the most grit, winning a hard fought semifinal game against Johns Hopkins, 3-2. They followed that win a day later with a triple overtime victory against an fast upcoming Citadel team. The Championship Game final was exciting as the Tribe racked up 78 shots on goal, just to be stopped again and again by The Citadel netminder (who finished as the game's MVP stopping 74 of 78 shots).
William & Mary hockey is ready for bigger challenges and will move up to the M2A league next season.
Congratulations to the student-athletes, Head Coach Adam Barger, the entire coaching staff, and the entire Tribe hockey family on a great four year run! Looking forward to greater accomplishments in the future for Tribe Hockey as they compete in ACC M2A.
