After an early loss to Division rival Maryland, Rowan bounced back to have their best season start since joining the ACC M2 Premier hockey league to include their league championship run of 2022. The Profs are currently 12-3 (4-1 in league play). They are now second in their M2 Premier Division trailing Penn State by 2 points, but with two games in hand.
In addition, Rowan just swept the Nittany Lions last weekend for the first time since both teams joined the ACC. The Profs won the first game on Halloween, 7-5, then returned on the ice Saturday to edge the Nittany Lions 4-3.
While Head Coach Brian Bennett credits the team with hitting their mid-season stride, sophomore Max Findley's performance was highlighted by Rowan and earned the ACC Player of the Week honors.
Max was credited with 2 goals and 3 apples over the weekend. Coach Bennett said of Max's efforts, "Max has done a phenomenal job growing as both a student and a player in the last 18 months. His commitment to his teammates and his willingness to compete have been on display, and I believe that is why he's finding success as a sophomore. Max is a Sports Communication major and hails originally from Voorhees, New Jersey. He last played for the Philadelphia Hockey Club.
Congratulations to Max, Head Coach Bennett, the entire Prof hockey staff and family for a phenomenal start to the '25-'26 season. With four league wins, Rowan is in a strong position to win the MACH Division this season.
Next up, the Profs travel to Springfield, VA for a the ACC Fall Classic Tournament and games against Virginia Tech (Friday), Wake Forest (Saturday), and UNC-Wilmington (Sunday).
