Austin Fruchter was honored as the 2017 ACC Hockey Scholar Athlete of the Year. On the ice, Austin has been a phenomenal Blue Liner for the Colonials. Going into his senior year, he is 2nd all-time in assists (49) and 4th all-time in points (51) by a GWU Defenseman. He was twice selected to the ACC Hockey All-Star Team by his peers. Off the ice, he is a stellar student, earning a 3.93 in Systems Engineering with a minor in Business Administration. Upon graduation, Austin will be working for PriceWaterhouseCoopers in NYC. Austin is the fourth annual recipient of this award. He received a check for $1000 from the ACCHL.
