NC State's Captain, Sammy Banasiewicz was selected to the ACHA Regional All-American First Team this past week at the ACHA Annual Conference in Naples.  Sam is the first ACC Hockey player in the league's 23-year history to have earned this honor.  Sam and two other ACC Student-Athletes have been previously named to the ACHA Regional All-American Second Team.  Sammy's other honors include ACCHL Forward of the Year.  Along with Max Terhar (GWU), he holds the ACCHL record as the all-time goal leader, and tied for second in points in the ACC Championship Tournament with 8 goals and 11 points (Feb 2016).  His former teammate, Luis Giminez (NC State) holds the all time points leader for a single tournament - 13 points (Feb 2016).  Sammy has also been nominated a record 3 times ACC Hockey Player of the Week, and has been selected to the ACC Hockey All-Star Team a record 3 times.  He will Captain the ACC All-Star Team in April 2019.
