Deacs Battle All Weekend; Come Up Short Twice

The Deacs returned to play for the 2023 spring semester last Friday at home in Winston-Salem. They would battle hard but lose to a very game Virginia Tech. Ethan Lilien tallied his first of the season to give the deans an early lead but woes in the transition defense and penalty kill would make that the only lead the Deacs would claim that night. Lilien (2), Siffringer, Albrighton, and Rigby in his return from abroad would tally for the Deacs but they would fall 7-5.

Sunday brought UNC to town and the Deacs would take an early lead from Colin Rosato. UNC would roar back (with the aid of a controversial goal decision)to take a 4-1 lead in the 3rd period. The Deacs would battle hard to make it interesting as Ernberg and Rosato would make it 4-3 late but the rally would just fall short. Rosato (2), and Ernberg would score the goals Sunday in a 4-3 loss to UNC.

The Deacs have a slate of home games this weekend from the Winston-Salem Fairgrounds Annex as they will take on NC State Friday at 6 PM, and Saturday night they will host the UNCC 49ers at 9:15 PM

Both games will be streamed through LiveBarn.

See you at the rink!
