On a cold Charlotte night the UNCC 49ers and WFU Demon Deacons met at Truist Park in Charlotte.

With eye black and in some cases Pit Vipers the Deacs took the ice in front of a rowdy crowd ready for Saturday night hockey.

Charlotte scored first on the PP to give themselves the early lead. The Deacs would go on to tie the game in the first through Senior Ryan Siffringer who buried one five hole to give us the early lead. Charlotte would respond and regain a one goal lead later in there first. The deacs would close the period out with a goal from Colin Rosato on a slick pass from Michael Kenney.

In the second the deacs would come out firing when a massive hit from Jack Chauvin opened the door for Connor Kuchman to make the game 3-2 Wake. A couple minutes later Rosato would tally for the second time on a delayed penalty with the assist coming from Evan Smith and Michael Kenney. The 2nd would close 4-2.

The third period was fairly tight checking until Ryan Siffringer buried his second goal of the game on the power play from Jack Cahill and Jack Chauvin. Charlotte would eventually grab another PP goal to make it interesting toward the end but James Dunne was there yet again to shut the door and send the Charlotte fans home unhappy.
