George Washington University (4 November 2018)

George Washington hockey has been strong for several years despite the usual graduation turnover due to exceptional student-athletes that step up year after year.  This year, after the typical roster turnover, junior goalie Alec Astorga has played strong in net to carry the Colonials to victory.  In the last two games against league opponents, Alec made 65 saves on 68 shots to notch back-to-back wins for the Colonials.  For his efforts between the pipes and his team leadership, the ACC proudly selected Alec as the Player of the Week for his second time in three years.  Only 10 other players have been selected Player of the Week 2 or more times since the award was created in 2012.  Congratulations to Alec and the Colonials for what appears to be another strong hockey program this season!
