Wake Forest returned to ACC Hockey on fire after the holiday break - within a week, the Demon Deacons took the ice against three ACC rivals with the Division Title and a Playoff berth at stake. Behind a tremendous effort of the Potts-Gebhardt-Solviletti line, Wake hockey tallied a 2-0-1 record in 7 days, winning the ACC Carolina West Division and earning a top 4 seed in the Championship Tournament. Freshman Drew Gebhardt was the anchor for his line at center and led the Demon Deacons with a Herculean effort on the ice resulting in 10 points (4 Goals, 6 Assists) in three games. In the first game against ACC rival West Virginia, Drew was involved in the scoring of all six goals. Drew and his teammates built upon that success with a 2-2 tie against division rival UNC-Charlotte, and a 8-1 win against North Carolina. Wake Forest finishes their regular season on the road next weekend against Kentucky and at home against Elon (Feb 10). Congratulations to Drew and Wake Forest for another successful hockey season - look forward to seeing the Demon Deacons compete in the ACC Championship Tournament at their home rink in Winston-Salem in less than three weeks!
