Navy D2 Sings Second, Defeats Army 2-1

ANNAPOLIS, MD:  Less than 24 hours after Navy’s D1 team defeated Army by a score of 10-1, it was the D2 teams turn to sing second versus Army. While not as many goals were scored, the end to end action kept the crowd into the game.

Army opened the scoring in the first period at 2:40 when Joshua Burns scored on an assist from Jay Peterson.  Navy tied the game at 7:56 of the second period with Ryan Samotis getting the goal, with the assist from Jacob Decelles. The game winning goal by Navy’s Michael Foschi was scored at 7:30 of the third period with the assist coming from Kevin Harris.

Russell Kraus was in goal for Army and made 23 saves on 25 shots. Mitch Stangel backstopped the Midshipmen making 38 saves while facing 39 shots.
