Winston=Salem, NC: The NC State men’s hockey team would claim their 4th straight ACCHL D2 tournament after defeating in state and cross-town rival University of North Carolina by a final score of 3-0. The win gave NC State a sweep of the ACCHL tournament, as their women’s team also took home the championship trophy earlier in the day.
All three goals were scored in the third period, with the first goal coming at 1:59. Emery Oliver would get the goal with help from Jackson Cowen and Chris Solomon. At 14:42, Zack Robinson would score with assists coming from Emery Oliver and Richard Frosch. Chris Solomon would complete the Icepack scoring at 19:33 with help from teammates Matt Miller and Eric Todd with an empty net goal.
Isaac Tawyer would get the victory in net, making 25 saves on 25 shots. Will Douthit would make 41 saves on 43 shots.
