Kal Maier ('20) ACC Hall of Fame Class of 2022

The ACC Hockey League is proud to announce that Wake Forest Goalie, Kal Maier has been selected to the ACC Hall of Fame (Class of 2022).  Kal played in net for the Deacon Demons for four seasons (2016-2020) and was Team Captain his final year.  Kal led his team to four Division Championships, two ACC Championship Finals, and one Championship Semi-Final game.  His team also qualified for the ACHA Regional Tournament where the Deacon Demons came one game short of reaching the National Tournament.

Among his accomplishments while at Wake Forest, Kal was voted by league coaches to the All-ACC First Team (Senior Year), All-ACC Second Team (Junior Year), and selected to the ACC All-Star Team.  Off the ice, Kal was selected as the ACC Scholar-Athlete, earning degrees in Finance and Accounting and graduating with a 3.98 GPA.

Finally, despite the extraordinary academic demands of Wake Forest University, hockey practices for two days per week and 20 weekend games per season, Kal found time to participate in a Goalie Saves Program and raised more than $10K for Breast Cancer Research.

Kal hails from Colorado, but was raised in Marshfield, MA.  Despite graduating from Boston College High School in 2016, Kal remains an avid Avalanche fan to this day.

After graduation from Wake Forest University, Kal spent more than 2 years in Investment banking and then transitioned to a financial planning and analysis role as a senior Analyst at EverQuote.  He resides in Boston and continues to play hockey in the local community.

We are privileged and proud to announce Kal Maier to the ACC Hockey Hall of Fame, Class of 2022.  Kal embodies the very leadership, dedication, fortitude, and compassion on and off the ice that is the hallmark in our collegiate hockey league.

Kal is the third Wake Forest Player to be selected to the ACC Hockey Hall of Fame.  Blake Mueller (HoF Class of 2021), and Trevor Incledon (HoF Class of 2017) were inducted previously.
