Rider University (25 Sep)

This season marks a number of changes for the Rider Broncs ice hockey program.  Rider seniors that led the team to a League Championship for the first time in 23 years, are replaced by sizable class of 10 freshmen, and joined by new head Coach Conner Fox.

Rider joined the ACC Hockey League M2 Premier Division (ACC Top Tier Division) and wasted no time, starting the season 2-1.  After a warm up win against the Seton Hall Pirates in their home opener, the Broncs travelled a short distance to Philadelphia to take last season's ACC M2 Elite Season Champion, Saint Joseph's.   After beating a very good Seton Hall team, 4-3, they followed up with a come from behind win, against the Hawks, 5-4.

Junior Cole Schneider earned the ACC Player of the Week honors by leading his team to two weekend victories.  Cole is the Broncs Assistant Captain and was credited with 2 goals and 1 assist over the weekend.  Off the ice Cole has earned a 3.2 GPA in Sports Media and is a member of the team's Executive Board.  Cole hails from Toms River, New Jersey.

On a final note, the ACC would like to give a shout out to Sean Levin who coached Rider ice hockey for 12 years and accumulated a university record 159 wins.  He is among the top 10 in ACC head coaches with the most wins and more importantly, a class act.  He will continue to be involved with Rider Hockey as GM and in a leadership role with the ACC.

Congratulations to Cole, new Head Coach Conner Fox, and the entire Rider Ice Hockey team.  Looking forward to the Broncs making a huge impact in ACC Hockey.
