Wake Forest Wins Back-to-Back Skills Competition

As in the past, this year's Annual Stephen Russell Tournament was competitive late into Sunday's competition with four teams in contention for the championship.  Wake Forest lost a thriller to GWU, 4-3, in a game against weekend unbeatens, dropping WFU from 1st to 4th place.  GWU finished in 3rd.  Hence, the tournament would be decided by the next two games featuring two Virginia teams:  UVA competing against UNC, and JMU vs. Elon.  Both games were tightly contested, and the points came down to the last period in both games.  JMU tied the 3rd period with Elon and captured their second tournament title in as many years, besting rival UVA by one point and GWU by 3 points.  Congratulations to the Dukes!
